Summary:The Unit Secretary, Perioperative Services provides indirect patient care for operative procedures.Schedules all add-on operative procedures.Assists in coordination of patient flow through all areas of Perioperative Services.Liaison to Clinical Coordinator and provides guidance to appropriate staff/personnel. Reviews records and performs patient charge postings.Maintains departmental statistical data and all departmental logs.Answers telephone.Insures CT/MRI Scans are available each day for all procedures taking place.Surgical schedule updated on a regular customer assistance to sales representatives (with appointments).Maintains locker room assignments, disaster lists, call schedule, etc.Performs all secretarial and receptionist duties (entering patients into patient registrations, performing physician order entry, etc.).Coordinates patient procedures with other departments. Assists with patient and equipment transports as directed and supervised by the registered nurse.Participates in performance improvement activities.
Requirements:High School graduate or equivalent.Knowledge of computer systems, and software applications.Microsoft word, Microsoft Excel, andMicrosoft access, use AS 400.Knowledge of medical terminology.Minimum of one (1) year experience as surgery scheduler.
Skills:Basic computer knowledge.Ability to type minimum of 40 wpm.Knowledgeable in skills of patient/guest relations.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
