Summary: The Diabetic Nurse Educator is responsible and accountable to work in collaboration with all members of the health care team to educate patients, families, staff and community in the skills needed for caring for diabetes. Acts as the key resource nurse to staff, people with diabetes and their families. Will work with inpatients, outpatients and ADEF (Ambulatory Diabetes Education and Follow-up) program. The Diabetic Nurse Educator demonstrates competency in educating patients, families, staff and community about diabetes. The Diabetic Nurse Educator demonstrates competency in adult learning principles, group process, facilitation in educating people with diabetes and their families, staff and community. The Diabetic Nurse Educator demonstrates competency in the performance of assessments, planning and coordination of individualized and outcome-oriented plans, and provides accurately delivered outcome-focused interventions.
Requirements: Hold a current Maine State Board of Nursing license. Minimum of 3-4 years of current clinical experience, two years of which include caring for pediatric and adult diabetic patients. Experience in teaching patients preferred. Certified Diabetic Educator certification is preferred.
Must have CDE required within2 years of hire as indicated on non CDE RD
Skills: Basic computer knowledge.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
