Summary:The Cancer Resource Advocate (CRA) will serve Maine cancer patients and caregivers in a full-time position shared by The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing, the Cancer Community Center, and The Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center.The CRA will assist cancer patients and caregivers by providing information and referral to local, statewide, and national organizations that address financial, informational, and support-related needs.The CRA will serve as the 'clearinghouse for all resource-related calls and emails directed to each of the three partnering organizations, and will be responsible for researching the resources, maintaining a cancer resource directory , assisting clients to access the resources and following up as appropriate with individuals.
Requirements:Bachelor s degree preferred.BSW or equivalent preferred but those with an Associate s degree and relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.Minimum 2 years relevant experience in human/social services field.
Skills:Basic computer knowledge.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
